Prioksky

The origins of gold refining at the Novosibirsk Refinery trace back to 1941, during World War II, when the State Refinery in Moscow was dismantled and relocated to Novosibirsk. From 1941 to 1990, the Novosibirsk facility was responsible for producing nearly all of the USSR’s London Good Delivery (LGD) 400 oz gold bars, using gold sourced not only from Russia but also from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Today, the refinery has a production capacity of approximately 300 metric tons per year.

Located in the Prioksky District near Kasimov in the Ryazan region, the Prioksky Non-Ferrous Metals Plant operates one of Russia’s major gold refineries. The company produces LGD 400 oz bars, as well as a variety of smaller cast and minted bars. In 1996, it became a Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) and was reorganized into an Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) in 2003. This status grants the company operational flexibility under the oversight of a Board of Directors. It remains wholly owned by the Federal Agency of Property Control, representing the Government of the Russian Federation.

The company refines various gold-bearing materials, including mine doré (containing gold and silver), electrolytic slimes derived from silver processing, precipitated gold slimes, and diverse forms of scrap gold. The newly mined gold it processes is primarily sourced from the Urals, Siberian, and Far Eastern regions of Russia.

In addition to refining gold, the Prioksky Plant engages in gold scrap recycling and manufactures both high-purity gold products and semi-finished items for the jewelry industry, including granules, anodes, alloy plates, and powders.
